Carla Pearce and Her Experience

Carla is currently a Network Manager for The Girls' Network. This not-for-profit organisation aims to empower and inspire girls from disadvantaged backgrounds by connecting them with female mentors. Carla had spent a number of years in HR and specifically Learning & Development where employee engagement was a huge focus. Perhaps more importantly, Carla took part in a mentoring partnership at her place of work that ultimately meant both her and the company she worked for benefited from high levels of engagement, innovation and productivity.
Mentoring is a highly effective tool for encouraging employee development. Apart from helping your employees to advance in their careers, it can also strengthen team relationships, improve the quality of work, and create a more positive work environment. This is why 71% of Fortune 500 companies have mentoring programs.

It’s all about developing personal relationships built on trust and focused on achievement. This relationship helps employees support each other, learn from each other, and increase their skill sets. Think of it as reciprocal learning and development. As a result, all employees can potentially grow and develop while the organisation can increase employee retention.
