Starting from "below," with value,is maybe easier, I don't know.

00:12

God, the design isn't quite right, but...It also makes sound? Amazing.

00:21

Alright."Why does starting as a promoter give you added value?" In life I've done a bit of everything, because really I'm not one to sit back with my arms crossed.

00:33

So yes, really, in my experience, while I was studying the last two years of engineering, I decided to go and live by myself, I didn't want to be a big burden on my family, so I started working as a promoter inside stores, eight hours a day.

00:49

But it was an enriching, very interesting experience, you realise how unique we are and how unique our personal needs and desires are.

01:05

I remember it was the time when the tablet market exploded, and honestly I couldn't keep up with all the customers who came in masses, literally in masses. It was after Christmas.

01:18

I think it gives me added value, that the results speak for themselves, because it's on the battlefield, or at least where you get on stage.

01:27

What I always tell the team of trainers, instructors and training managers, is to analyze the word "training," which means practice.

01:39

Then we go to the field. That is, the one who evaluates us, measures us, is not our manager, our superior,or our boss, it's the client; it's the client who evaluates us,the final judgement I think it's very important, especially in retail, from the final stage, but the most important one,the company's reality.

02:02

I think it gives me added value because I keep motivating and supporting the team at all levels, to visit stores, to exchange between salespeople from different areas, because only this way can we activate the creative, of ideation, and critical process that creates new ideas and therefore, innovations.

02:23

The process is a bit disruptive, but that's how we are.

02:27

In general, it's about always being very active, and offering novelty.

02:35

Because we make the difference with the story we're going to tell.

02:39

And to tell a good story you need to read many books, visit many stores, know reality.

02:46

Otherwise, we also risk falling into a theoretical narrative of the store's reality, without really living it.

02:56

I think that's what made the difference, at least in my career."Is it just about humility?" Yes.

03:05

Which, in any case, seems a bit like your mandate.

03:09

Humility, absolutely, yes. That is, the fact that I was in the field, that is, putting myself in the place of those making the sales,is a sign of humility.

03:28

And of support, attention, and backing, yes.Yes, I also think that living the retail sector, after this path, this career, going through the various phases at all levels, has actually increased my appearance of humility, because it starts from stores, sales, contractual conditions, which are worlds apart.

03:54

We also talk about this. But it's a job that, from that point, you can enrich yourself, you can understand so much, you can bring out all the aspects of soft skills, in person.

04:09

I remember the first day I worked as a promoter.I was very shy, skittish, clumsy.

04:15

And then you learn to build the story, to take and insert pauses,to maintain a certain distance with the user entering the store, and you begin to play, it becomes a challenge. And you adjust, use the right techniques and approach, the right soft skills to connect and create a bond.

04:39

I still keep in touch with many people, despite the years.

04:44

Humility plays a big role, because I believe it's very important to listen, not only to the user, but also to those in contact with them:the salesperson, the promoter, the ones who live in the store every day,and make their work as pleasant as possible, and without a doubt, as easy as possible, reducing all that bureaucracy which becomes an obstacle and prevents a process that instead should be more creative, based on listening and observing the store.

05:20

That's what I invite all my team members to do.Probably, yes, humility is important and part of knowledge.

05:29

If you want, take that half step back to take a bigger step forward, once the ideal conditions are there, once we've created the right conditions to do so.
